Do I need a relocation consultant to move to Paphos?

No. Every step can be done yourself, and our settling-in guides show you how. A consultant saves time and repeat trips, which matters most if you're still in the UK or working full-time when the lease starts.

Why not just do it myself?

You can, and our guides show you how. People use a partner when they're still in the UK, working full-time, or dealing with a residence application and schools at the same time. A partner's value is doing the queues in the right order.

Can a partner set up utilities before I arrive?

Often, yes, once you have a signed lease. EAC accepts applications by email and a partner can submit with your authorisation. EOA Paphos water accounts are opened in person, which a partner with a power of attorney may be able to handle. The full process is on our utilities setup in Paphos page.

Can you open my bank account for me?

No one can open a personal account without the bank meeting you for KYC. A partner prepares your document pack and introduces you to a named contact, which usually saves repeat visits. Our Cyprus banking introductions explain how that works.

Do you give legal or tax advice?

No. Paphos Advisor doesn't give legal or tax advice. For residence permits we introduce you to an immigration lawyer, and for tax residency to a Cyprus tax adviser.

How do you make money?

What you get: a free introduction to a vetted Paphos relocation partner who handles utilities, bank prep, tax number, GESY and licence timing.

What it costs you: nothing for the introduction. The partner quotes their own fee in writing; government fees and deposits (EAC €350 for non-EU tenants, licence exchange €40) are paid at cost.

What no one can do for you: attend your residence-permit biometrics or the bank's KYC meeting. A partner prepares you for both.

The problem: ten jobs, eight offices, one order that works

Settling in Paphos isn't hard. It's fiddly. Each job depends on a document from the one before, and most offices take papers only in the morning.

A typical UK mover needs to:

transfer EAC electricity into their name (tenant deposit €350 for non-EU nationals)
open a water account with EOA Paphos or the village council, in person
register for a Tax Identification Code
open a bank account, which takes 3–4 weeks of KYC checks
book broadband, which takes 5–14 business days to install
register with GESY once eligible, and choose a personal doctor
exchange a UK driving licence within 6 months of becoming resident

Do them in the wrong order and you'll queue twice. Do them while also sorting a residence permit, school places and a job, and your first month disappears.

What our Paphos relocation services partners do (and don't)

Paphos Advisor is an introduction service. We don't hold your documents or sign anything for you. We match you with a vetted local partner, usually a relocation consultant or government-liaison specialist, who does the work under their own terms.

A good partner will:

tell you which documents each office wants, in the order you'll need them
book appointments and, where the office allows it, attend or submit on your behalf with a power of attorney
chase EAC, the water office and the broadband provider until each account is live
hand you a summary of account numbers, payment methods and contacts

Some steps you must still do in person. You attend your residence permit appointment yourself, and banks meet you for KYC. A partner prepares you for both.

What it costs

The introduction is free to you. If you go ahead, the partner pays Paphos Advisor a referral fee. Our referral disclosure explains how that works.

The partner charges their own professional fee, which they quote in writing before starting. Government fees and deposits, such as the EAC deposit or the €40 licence exchange fee, are paid straight to the provider at cost.

If you only need one job done, ask for that. You don't have to buy a package.
